About me

I am a Counselling Psychologist with advanced training in psychodynamic and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT). My approach to working with the human condition, in its diversity - including personal, social, racial, cultural, ethnic, religious, spiritual, relational, gender and sexual diversity - is non-judgemental, compassionate, and emancipatory. Developing a specialism in neurodiversity - working with Autism and ADHD - is my present passion. Already a certified ADOS-2 practitioner, I am working towards my ADI-R certification to enhance my Autism assessments. I am a compassionate professional, adept at creating safe psychological spaces for clients to freely explore their lived experiences. With my focused approach and gentle support, I offer my clients an opportunity to reframe and see their mental health challenges in a new light and to, hopefully, find their own solutions to their problems. I worked in pastoral ministry for 18 years and I garnered a wealth of experience of service to human communities in some of the most deprived environments. Integrating pastoral care and evidence-based therapeutic approaches, I offers clients, for whom religion and spirituality are important concerns, a safe place to reflect, discern and decide what living their lives authentically might mean for them. I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), a National Certified Counselor (NCC, USA); a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), a registered member of the Black, African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN), and registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC, UK) as a Counselling Psychologist. I hold a bachelor of arts honours degree in philosophy and religious studies (2002) from the University of Zimbabwe, a master’s degree in pastoral counselling (2007) and a doctoral degree in counsellor education and supervision (2019) from Loyola University in Maryland, USA.
